Scheme Of Things

A fierce stallion once drew his head here and called it home. Xasus, a wild beast brought to Australia to pull lived his life pulling, and only pulling. Xasus was smart, he knew better. He knew horses were not meant to be tied to large chunks of wood and steel pipes- they were meant to be free. His wishes were granted as a sympathetic girl- many years ago, set him and a harem of mares and foals free by "mistake." He took the chance and ran with it- heading over a seemingly endless terrain of nothing but barren outback. As days wore on to weeks and weeks wore into months he was losing strength, the young colts were trying to buck up and take over, when all seem lost he came upon a gold mine. He and his haphazardly grouped herd hit an incline, moving down it with haste they fell into an eden of Australian Outback. Xasus and his favorite mare, Audota, explored the terrain, finding a rivers, streams, lakes and even a small sea. There is are apple tree's along some of the lakes, fields stacked with rolling hills and what seemed endless.

Two years passed in harmony, but the third year came a threat. The horses had expanded, Xasus and Audota had foals of their own, the colts had grown and wanted their own mares. A split happened, Rikaran, a young 3 year old banded mares together and created a second herd- starting a never ending battle between the two herds. A fight had broken out. Rikaran and Xasus went at it; a legendary battle between the horses and Rikaran prevailed leaving Xasus to die in his wake. In which he did, a two days after the battle, the great stag lie down in the grass never to rise again. His body sinking into the earth. A widowed Audota was furious, standing tall in front of her land, the first mare to ever lead. She became like a demon- vengeful and full of hate after her loves death. A few horses from both sides broke away, avoiding all the conflict starting a small place of their own.

Since the splitting of the horses, the land has been forever hurting. The year they parted, a harsh winter came through, killing much of what they survive on, then to make things even worse, an unforgiving heat wave came through the summer. A drought lasting over a year, nearly dried up their resources. Grass dry and burned from the lack of shade, where shade once was, lie tree's killed from the winter. The land is suffering, and the horses are suffering. The herd of Elderwood wishes to join again with share lead thinking this will solve their problems, while Affliction would much rather keep his distance, fearing that Elderwood is only creating a trap. The small band of Au Courant is stuck between the two- simply living by their own rules and making no enemies. They draw themselves away from the other two. They fair better through the harsh season, having a smaller herd and less mouths to feed, they tend to be the strongest of the three, but refuse to take a stand.

Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?

Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:

  • Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd.
  • Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel.
  • Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd.
  • Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.

We are also accepting staff applications for Global Moderators, Graphics Designers and Skin Designer.

What's going on... ?

There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?

The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?

V 1.0 After the plague

It began over a life time ago, and how it began, no one remembers. Once upon a time the horses lived on an island accessible by island hopping by swimming. There were four realms between the island, the North, East, South and West. A family of royalty reigned over each realm.
Then on a dark day, a plague raced through the island. A raw rash ate the the flesh of the horses, which caused the horses to twitch and shake which transferred the plague from horse to horse. Only a few horses escaped the island to another before they became infected.
After a few years what remained of the royals returned to the island, while most of the other horses who had survived returned to larger continents. Some of the royals are still young and naive and where only princes and princesses and lost their parents to the plague. Some other royals are older and with no one to protect them from battles, could easily loose their realms.

Wolf Glint

Can you travel far enough to get to the lands of Wolf Glint, into the forests and past the trees to the world waiting within? Can you smell the grass catching in your nose, the morning dew beneath your paws, the wind clashing with your face as you glide farther into a territory you have never yet seen?

Are you intelligent enough to brave the darkest of nights to find a hollow, waterfall crashing in a sweet harmony, with fireflies dancing on the breeze? Watch the fish swim carefully through the rushing liquid, then dip in a paw for a quick catch.

Is it possible for you to get to the place where trees and thicket rule much of the land? Through the clearing, see the den of the wolves. Are they forgotten, or are they lying in wait?

Bright sunlight, filter through the clearing. It caresses berries and the fresh rainwater on the greenery, making it lush with plant-life. A pond gushing wish splashing fish adds a touch of other beings. Hot In the hours of day, then cool and refreshing by the time of night.

Ash covering the ground, a towering volcano ahead, the heat blazing towards the skies. Beware the dark soot, clinging to your paws, your pelt, smothering your lungs as you try to move onward. Death is painted in the air of the area, a cruel, slow torture into the depths of scalding magma.

And at last, the rolling sands of a beach. Gentle, crashing waves sweeping over your paws, sunlight glimmering off of it and gems found here.

.:Azeri:.
I need a map to find my way out…

Mazarin Dagan… it’s only a myth. Am I Right? Horses passed this story down for generations, leaving it to be old wives tell that no one believed. It was just exiting to believe, even if only for a second that it was true. Horses normally told this to their young, as a bedtime story. Or even as something to amuse them. Or possibly even to get their imaginations soaring so they would pretend they found the lands themselves, to keep them out of the adults’ hair for a while. Whatever the reason, the story is as follows.

There lays a place, forgotten and unknown to us horses, in our planet called Azeri. Mazarin Dagan. The only true magic this planet offers. It was said to be created by an ancient Unicorn. It was the last of its kind. It knew its dyeing day was approaching fast. But it didn’t want Unicorns to be forgotten. It used the last of its powers to have an island, small though it may be, to arise from no where. It is clear and green, the only two physical feature being a small, crystal clear pond. Stallions with lands and the lead mare of each herd can drink from the pond, and they are the only ones who can find these lands as well. Each horse is granted a different power. And if they were ever to loose their lands or position in the herd, their powers are gone in a split second. Although, if a foal is born, and the foal must be out of the lead mare and sired by the lead stallion, it is given the powers automatically, and will never loose them. Their powers can not be passed onto their own foals; unless they are the lead mare or lead stallion. The second physical feature is a small rock, taking the slight form of a Unicorn. Some say that’s where he died, and was turned to stone. Others say he made the stone himself. The possibilities are endless. But the lands are undiscoverable. _

That was until a horse, named Dothan, came upon the lands. He had heard about the lands as a foal, and although he had been told the lands were impossible to find, and that they weren’t even real. But he refused to give up. He went on and on until he found the island. It had been untouched and undiscovered for years. And of course, he didn’t want to keep such a discovery to himself. He came back to the main lands and told everyone about it. Of course, equines thought he was loopy and crazy. But he knew it was real.
Will you believe him and wander there yourself to get these powers?
Or will you stay back and shake your head, thinking to yourself that he had finally lost it?

For years the equine and canine species had gotten along. Sharing their lands and always being there for one another, the animals took care of and looked after each other. Nothing bad ever happened to the equine with the power of the canines looking out for them and in return, the equine helped the canines in any possible way they could;; whether it was looking for food, watching the pups, etc. With life seeming to be so perfect, no one thought anything could go wrong, but they were mistaken. Years passed and things only got better. The bonds between the species continued to grow and fear had completely dropped, trust taking it's place. However, about that time, when trust fully took over, something happened and ruined it all.

No one, canine or equine is exactly sure of what happened and both species have their own opinions and ideas of what occurred, but it was never recorded for sure. Still, what ever it was, it was enough to start a spontaneous hatred that broke the animals apart. Lands were divided, both species doing their best to get new lands that the others didn't know about, and it worked. Time continued to pass in this division, when suddenly the canines began to turn on each other. Something was happening in the packs and they weren't sure what was going on. The canines broke apart too, forming four different packs, each having a leader with their own followers and different beliefs. This, didn't last more than a few months though when the leader of the Kiltous Pack finally realized what was going on, well slightly. The equine were trying to sabotage them, all of them and it was working. The canines were slowly weakening themselves, which gave the equines an advantage.

When this discovery was shared, the canines came back together and knew it was time for revenge. How they would get pay back, was something they could not really figure out though and that was when one wolf stepped forward with an idea. "Why show mercy? They have weakened us and we must do the same. Kill the foals. That is what I say.", and it was agreed. The canines snuck into the herds, which had also separate, but their reasons were for more power to the Northern Herd, which still goes unknown by the canines. The equine knew they were in trouble when they began to find their young dead and knew that the canines were onto them, which was bad, very bad. As more of their young died, the equine put all the strength they could into the Northern Herd, deciding to keep all their plans there and away from the canines' knowledge.

The sabotage increased and the killed foal number also sky rocketed. More and more of the animals were dying, but neither side gave in and the battle raged on. Years continued to pass and time never stopped as each side seemed to grow more hatred for the other. Things became worse and harder on both species and it became known that things were only going down hill and getting worse and worse. What now? Many of the animals wondered and strayed from the packs, going to the freelands as loners, unsure if the war was right. Many others wandered to the packs and seemed to fight for something that was still unknown

ANDROMIDIA EXILE
THRIVE OR PARISH BY THE SEA

This is Andromidia, this is a world devoid of the concept of "Lights, Darks, Neutrals, King and Queens." But how that can be! Well let me tell you my friends for in a time before these things where the common everyday of the rp world there were "herds" those of you who are older know what i am speaking of i am sure and with that lets begin.

Peace has reigned in the Land come to be known as Andromidia Exile. Within it are four herds, only one is lead so far and by the arrogant and demeaning Son Kez. So much of the lands nicknamed Exile have yet to be filled that it is as if you walk alone. To live in Exile is to live for survival, to see the sun the next day and know that you will live on. AE is geared toward those who already know what they are doing and more or less want a friendly, easy and safe environment to let some stem off. To perhaps rp like we did in the old days. Free of complication and the burdens of internal politics.

While we only have a word minimum of 200 words we expect all our members to be literate, well mannered and polite. I do not ever want to see excessive spelling and grammar mistakes in posts. Use proper terms and please do not use adjectives such as 'stallion' and 'mare' its bad form and makes me very sad. It makes me sad beacuse i know that of you that are seriously interested in joining AE can do better than that. You should push yourself to be your best with in reason. Questions, comments feel free to PM the Admin account.

Equinox? what is it? another stupid horse game? ugh!! sick of horse games

WOW!!! wait there sunny jim....

Equinox WILL be a horse sim game, but there is a twist up our sleeves...

When you join the game, you choose where you want to live around the globe, depending on where you live depends on what breed of horses you are allowed to buy, as different breeds come from different countries, there will be a big map, made from Nea our other admin.

For example, if you like in the UK and you want a Hanoverian, and Hanoverian's are only sold in the USA, somebody in the USA then has the chance of using the "trade" part of the game, where they can trade you the horse breed you want for something of yours, or they shall sell it.
But in most cases, selling wont be cheap, as it's not like you can just come on and get every horse breed, you have to live in a certain place

Equinox will include many of the features horse games have, such as shows etc..
We are trying our best to make Equinox a lot different so it will attract members.
